Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 October 2026

Grow Local respects your privacy and only collects and uses personal information where it is needed to respond to enquiries, provide services, operate this website and keep it secure.

This privacy policy explains what information may be collected when you use growlocalseo.co.uk and how it is handled.

Information I collect

If you contact Grow Local through the website, I may collect information including:

  • your name
  • business name
  • website address
  • email address
  • telephone number
  • any information you include in your message

If you use the free local SEO audit tool on the website, information you provide through that tool may also be collected and processed by BrightLocal in order to generate the audit and provide the results.

Basic technical information may also be processed when you use the website, such as your IP address, browser information and information needed for security and the normal operation of the website.

How I use your information

I use personal information where necessary to:

  • respond to enquiries
  • discuss or provide services you have asked about
  • manage relationships with clients and prospective clients
  • provide requested website or SEO audits
  • operate, protect and improve the website
  • prevent spam, abuse and automated form submissions
  • meet legal, accounting or regulatory requirements

I do not sell your personal information.

Where required under UK data protection law, personal information is processed because it is necessary to respond to your request or take steps towards providing a service, because there is a legitimate business interest in operating and protecting Grow Local, or because there is a legal obligation to retain or process certain information. Analytics and marketing cookies, and the services that use them, rely on your consent.

Contact forms and email

When you submit an enquiry form on the website, the information you provide is used to respond to your enquiry. If you arrived from one of Grow Local's adverts, the enquiry also records which advertising campaign brought you to the website.

Website enquiry emails are delivered using Brevo, a transactional email provider. Information contained in an enquiry may therefore be processed by Brevo as part of delivering the email.

I will not add you to a marketing mailing list simply because you have submitted an enquiry.

Free local SEO audit

The website uses BrightLocal's Agency Lead Generator to provide free local SEO audits.

If you use this tool, the business and contact information you provide is processed by BrightLocal to generate the audit, deliver the results and make the enquiry available to Grow Local.

The tool is only loaded when you choose to run it. When you do, your browser connects to BrightLocal, and the tool also loads fonts and a business search from Google (Google Fonts and Google Maps). As with any website, those connections share your IP address and basic browser information with BrightLocal and Google.

BrightLocal and Google operate under their own privacy policies.

Spam protection

The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help distinguish genuine visitors from automated bots and prevent spam and abuse.

Cloudflare may process technical information and signals from your browser and device for this purpose. Turnstile is used for website security rather than advertising.

Cloudflare provides further information about this processing in its Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

Cookies and similar technologies

The website may use cookies or similar technologies where they are necessary for security or for services used on the website to function.

Analytics cookies and Marketing cookies are only used if you allow them when asked. Each is a separate choice, and you can change either at any time using the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of every page.

The Cookie Policy lists the cookies used on this website and explains how to change your choices.

Website analytics

If you allow Analytics cookies, the website uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand how visitors find and use the website so that it can be improved.

Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you view, how you arrived at the website, the type of device and browser you use and your approximate location. It uses cookies to tell one visitor from another. It is not used to collect your name, email address, telephone number or anything you type into the contact form.

Google processes this information on behalf of Grow Local. Google Analytics is not loaded, and none of this is collected, unless you have allowed Analytics cookies.

Advertising measurement

If you allow Marketing cookies, the website uses the Meta Pixel, a service provided by Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram. It is used to measure how well Grow Local's advertising on Facebook and Instagram works, and to help show adverts to people who may be interested.

The Meta Pixel records two things: that a page on the website was viewed (a PageView event) and that an enquiry form was sent successfully (a Lead event). With each, Meta receives technical information such as the address of the page, your IP address, your browser and device details and the identifiers held in its cookies. If you have a Facebook or Instagram account, or arrived by clicking an advert, Meta may be able to link this information to your account.

The website is not set up to send Meta your name, email address or anything else you type into an enquiry form. The Lead event only records that a form was sent.

The Meta Pixel is not loaded, and nothing is sent to Meta, unless you have allowed Marketing cookies. If you later switch Marketing cookies off, it stops and its cookies are deleted from this website.

Meta explains how it uses this information in its Privacy Policy.

Who your information may be shared with

I may use trusted service providers where necessary to operate Grow Local and the website. These can include website hosting, email delivery, website security, website analytics, advertising measurement and SEO audit providers.

At present these include services such as Brevo, Cloudflare, BrightLocal, Google (for Google Analytics, where you have allowed Analytics cookies) and Meta (for the Meta Pixel, where you have allowed Marketing cookies).

Personal information may also be disclosed where required by law or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.

I do not sell personal information to third parties.

How long I keep your information

I keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, including responding to enquiries, maintaining client or prospective client records and meeting legal or accounting requirements.

The appropriate retention period may therefore depend on the nature of the enquiry or business relationship.

Information that is no longer required will be deleted or securely disposed of where appropriate.

International data transfers

Some technology providers used to operate the website or provide services may process information outside the UK.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, appropriate safeguards are expected to be used in accordance with applicable data protection law.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights over your personal information. These can include the right to:

  • ask what personal information I hold about you
  • ask for inaccurate information to be corrected
  • ask for your information to be deleted in certain circumstances
  • ask for processing to be restricted
  • object to certain uses of your information
  • request transfer of your information where applicable

If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact Grow Local using the details on the Contact page.

You also have the right to raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.

Keeping your information secure

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure.

However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated if the website, services or the way personal information is processed changes.

The latest version will always be published on this page.
